Fiona Glover
Fiona has a strong background in evidence based medicine and believes that an holistic perspective is central to lasting change. She practices meditation and mindfulness and is passionate about bringing the gift of mindfulness to others. Fiona has taught Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups for individuals with depression, anxiety and chronic pain since 2004.
A member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Fiona has worked for 10 years in the public and private arenas of mental health, initially in the area of Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Fiona facilitates assessment and therapy with adults and young people experiencing a range of mental health problems in private practice and the general practice setting.
She lectures on CBT for the School of Social Work, Flinders University and in other settings, and has supervised social work students and mental health clinicians in rural regions of South Australia. Fiona facilitated suicide prevention training for Divisions of GPs and local community groups across South Australia, and has coordinated GP education and training regarding Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) approaches to the management of mental health problems in young people and adults. Fiona is an accredited Wu Tao—The Dancing Way teacher, facilitating mindfulness through the process of gentle dance and movement.
